What are Google Cloud Arcade Game Tracks?

Beside individual Skill Badges, the official Google Cloud Arcade portal periodically releases theme-based, structured gameplay tracks. These are grouped into three primary difficulty classifications: Trail (Beginner), Voyage (Intermediate), and Adventure (Advanced).

Each game track contains a curated collection of hands-on console labs that explore specific GCP tools, such as Vertex AI pipelines, Cloud Run deployment patterns, and BigQuery serverless databases.

Earning a game track badge is highly lucrative. While individual skill badges award 0.5 points, completing a full monthly game track awards 1.0 points toward your active Arcade balance.

The Three Classifications Explained

Google structures the monthly game releases to guide learners from basic compute concepts to advanced cloud security setups:

1. The Trail (Beginner-friendly)

The Trail focuses on basic cloud setups. You will learn to provision simple virtual machines, configure cloud storage objects, set up identity permissions, and work with Google Cloud Shell commands. This is highly recommended for students starting their cloud journeys.

2. The Voyage (Intermediate level)

The Voyage introduces serverless tools and automation. Labs cover standard deployments on Cloud Run, setting up Google Cloud Functions, building Docker images, and simple SQL pipeline queries in BigQuery.

3. The Adventure (Advanced level)

The Adventure is the ultimate challenge. It covers enterprise cloud architectures, deploying multi-node Kubernetes clusters, securing APIs, configuring global load balancing, and engineering complex Vertex AI generative pipelines.

Rules for Point Validation

Earning game track badges requires keeping track of active windows:

  • Time-Gated Windows: Each monthly game track is typically active for a limited time (usually 30 to 45 days). Once a track closes, you can no longer earn the badge or its 1.0 point value.
  • Complete All Labs: You must earn 100% check scores on all individual labs within the track to receive the final badge on your profile.
  • Public Sync: Ensure your profile visibility remains public so the calculator script can verify your completed game tracks.

Visual Solution Walkthroughs

Because monthly game tracks feature limited-time windows, you do not want to get stuck on an error that lets the timer expire. If you encounter virtual machine script failures or custom console configuration bugs, visit GCP DECODE and CloudoArc on YouTube. We provide free visual walk solutions, script templates, and command sheets for all active game levels the minute they release!
