Conceptual quiz completions are being replaced with comprehensive, hands-on console achievements. Google wants students to graduate from the program with real, practical engineering capabilities (like setting up global load balancers, deploying live Kubernetes pods, and training Vertex AI LLMs) rather than just theoretical memorization.

What Happens to Completed Trivia Badges? (Legacy Badges)

Many active students who participated during the early phase of the 2026 season (January through March) earned Sprints or early Trivia badges before the discontinuation went into full effect.

The Preservation Policy: Any retired Trivia, Sprint, or Certification Zone badges that you successfully completed earlier in the season are strictly preserved.
